Valvoline Premium Blue(tm) series is a full range of diesel and gas engine oils jointly developed and exclusively endorse by Cummins and Valvoline and contains a proprietary combination of additives designed specifically to meet the needs and performance levels of today's advanced engines. In addition, Valvoline Premium Blue TM is widely used as first fill on Cummins factory assembly lines around the globe.
Valvoline Premium Blue is designed to provide advanced lubricant performance in modern, low emissions diesel engines, including those with cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction), and Euro 4 engines. It is a higher Total Base Number (TBN) product designed for the latest diesel engine specification from API, ACEA, and OEMs that allow for higher sulfated ash products.

1866
While studying possible healing powers of crude oil, the American Physician Dr Ellis was disappointed to find no real medicinal value, but was aspired by its potential lubricating properties. The oil he developed in 1866 worked effectively in high temperatures and was especially suitable to lubricate the large steam engines of that time. He abandoned the practice of medicine and founded the Continuous Oil Refining Company, which later became known as Valvoline. Today, Valvoline is a world leading independent lubricant specialist with 150 years of experience under the belt.
1920
When the Model T is mass-produced with a side-valve 4-cylinder engine, only one motor oil is recommended to keep them all running. In fact, each car has a plaque mounted on the dash panel that reads: THIS CAR IS FILLED WITH VALVOLINE LIGHT MOTOR OIL. WE RECOMMEND ITS USE. NO OTHER OIL SHOULD BE USED IN THIS CAR.
1939
Valvoline(tm) develops a single grade oil called X-18 that eliminates the need for 18 other specific car lubricants.
1945
Leading up to the end of WWII, Valvoline(tm) is widely used to lubricate allied vehicles. If it's good enough for an army fleet, you can use it in your family car.
1954
With the economy in high gear, hot rods all the rage and people driving more often, automakers shift to the powerful overhead valve v8 engine. Valvoline(tm) responds with its all-climate oil, so people don't have to switch oils for each season.
1965
With America's obsession with the speed and power of muscle cars, Valvoline(tm) introduces an oil specifically designed for racing, now called VR1.
1985
Valvoline(tm) responds to the "Do-It-For-Me" consumer demands by entering the quick-lube business with the purchase of the Rapid Oil Change chain. The name was changed to Valvoline Instant Oil Change(r) in 1987.
1996
To withstand hotter engine temperatures, Valvoline(tm) introduces DuraBlend(tm) first 1st synthetic blend motor oil.
2000
In response to the aging population of cars from the 80s and 90s, Valvoline(tm) develops MaxLife(tm), which helps to restore lost horsepower in cars with over 75,000 miles.
