Today H. E. Shaikh Ebrahim Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman AAOIFI Board of Trustees, will inaugurate WIFF 2018, a unique conference being organized by CEIF-IBA to bring together academicians and practitioners for generating innovative ideas to stimulate Islamic Finance growth. Shaikh Muhammad Taqi Usmani will deliver the visionary address at the commencement of the Conference. Furthermore, global leaders in Islamic finance have been invited to share their valuable views with the participants.

After experiencing stunning double digit growth figures for more than two decades, Islamic finance industry has witnessed a slowdown in growth since 2015. Is it possible to put the industry back on fast growth track and continued globalization? What will define future direction of the Islamic finance industry?

WIFF 2018 aims to deliberate on the future outlook for the global Islamic finance industry in light of rapidly changing market dynamics, driven by technological developments and growing need for innovative products to cater to upcoming sectors. Against this backdrop, the role envisaged for various stakeholders, especially the regulator, to expand the outreach will be discussed by Islamic finance visionaries at the conference.

WIFF 2018 is a one of a kind conference that aims to blend global excellence in academia and research with industry expertise to develop practical and innovative ideas for taking Islamic Finance industry to the next level while overcoming present day industry challenges. It is expected to be a high profile international event with participation from prominent Shari'ah scholars, renowned academicians, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), Central Bank of Turkey, Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Finocracy, Deloitte & Touché in addition to key local and global Islamic financial institutions.

A "Policy Dialogue on Game Changers for Islamic Capital Markets and Takaful" has been arranged as a closed door parallel session in the Conference for key industry players to carve out future business strategy in light of changing market dynamics.

One of the key objectives of WIFF 2018 is knowledge enhancement through intellectual input from both academia and industry practitioners. In this pursuit, research papers and case studies to be presented at WIFF 2018 will focus on areas crucial for the development of Islamic Finance industry.

Prominent personalities in the global finance arena will participate in panel discussions on expanding outreach of Islamic finance through 'out of the box' solutions taking into account digital disruption. Panelists will also deliberate on enhancing the role of Islamic finance in value based intermediation. A 'Closing Session with Islamic Finance Visionaries' will be held to consolidate the outcome of the Conference with views from think tank of the Islamic finance industry.

Around 50 speakers will be participating in WIFF 2018 from 17 global and 15 local institutions. Global Islamic finance experts from Turkey, UK, USA, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Australia, KSA and Bahrain will be sharing valuable insights with the participants of WIFF 2018.
