I am aghast at some of the advertisements being shown on TV. All our morals, values, manners are being negated. Take the advert of a detergent. It teaches you to lie to your mother, hide things, do things on the sly, be selfish and find ways to cheat others especially your mother.

Then there is an advert of a masala. A foreigner brings biryani to someone's house. The lady of the house, instead of welcoming her in, takes a bite of the biryani right at the door. Is this how we welcome guests?

Are these the manners, the values that we have been taught by our elders. Are these the values we wish to pass on to our children.?

It should be incumbent on the Pemra to take cognizance of all that is being shown in the advertisements. Our younger generation should not be led astray.
