He submitted his written reply to the court which reserved its verdict on the contempt proceedings. On two of the hearings, the lawyers also turned violent, clashed with security personnel and broke past judges' gate of the high court.
The former chief justice had initiated contempt proceedings against Qureshi and another lawyer for misbehaving with a LHC judge at Multan bench, obstructing judicial work and ransacking the court premises before ripping off the name plate of the judge on July 24, 2017.
The bench had also issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of Qureshi, however, it withdrew the same after some senior bar leaders promised to produce him before the court. However, Qureshi refused to appear before the high court, but appeared before the Supreme Court.
