Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif chaired a consultative meeting of the party's parliamentary board to discuss the party's candidates for the upcoming Senate elections. Party insiders said that the meeting discussed few names including Haroon Akhtar, Asif Kirmani, Tehmina Doltana, Nuzhat Sadiq, Tariq Fatemi, Saood Majeed, Ishaq Dar and Kamran Michael to be party's possible candidates from Punjab. It was also decided that in case the nomination paper of Ishaq Dar is rejected on the grounds of his ongoing cases in the accountability courts, then his son Ali Dar would be given the party ticket for the Senate election.
