On the occasion, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Parvez Khattak said that this agreement signifies the fulfilment of the promises that PTI provincial government had made during election campaign with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Indeed, this project will turn out to be a game changer for the province. This will help boost the economy of the country, he said. Khattak added, "It is the result of the hard work and dedication that we have gone from red tape to red carpet. The foreign investors are willing to invest in our province. They want conducive working environment and transparency in the rules and actions of a government. Our government goes one step forward then what we promise to cooperate and facilitate all our investors in best way possible."
Minister for Energy and Power, Atif Khan said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is fulfilling its responsibility by providing investors with a one window shop facility and assuring the visiting delegation of full cooperation. Atif said, "The vast experience of Himmash in oil and gas services will help the KPOGCL achieve its goal and thus the province will prosper and boost economy of Pakistan," he explained.
He also said that the agreement signing with Himmash showed the confidence of international companies to work in Pakistan which will give a positive image to other potential investors in the world. He observed that all required efforts are being undertaken for fulfilling the vision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to ensure energy security for Pakistan.
The visiting delegates from Russian company included Yaroslav Gaverylenko, while from Orphuse Wayne Mitchells and Osman Chaudhry were included. Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Minister for Energy and Power Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman PTI said, "During my election campaign I used to say that Insha Allah a time will come when foreigner's trust in Pakistan will be restored. Today my dream about 'Naya Khyber Pakhtunkhwa' comes true. The investors are pouring their investments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa just because of honest and sincere leadership." Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is considered to be a leading province in production of crude oil in comparison to other provinces. The province is said to be producing 55,000 barrels per day of oil which equals to 54pc of the total production of the country.
