The event was jointly orchestrated by four highly resourceful industrial associations including; footwear, leather goods, tanneries, gloves and leather garments.
"We have received overwhelming response from entrepreneurs, investors and all other stakeholders of this industry," Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA) Chairman, Farrukh Saleem said, adding: "Rapid growth of this industry has attracted many international buyers to invest into training facilities for this labour-intensive industry. These investments will improve the technical skills and productivity of the laborers involved in manufacturing leather goods."
According to him, this event provided a viable platform for nurturing stronger ties between the allied industries of the leather sector of Pakistan. It also features a special exhibition of the high quality products being produced by the leather manufacturing industry of Pakistan. The PMLS 2018 has attracted potential buyers and investors from China, India, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Cyprus and USA.
