KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has criticised the revival of the Muthahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), a religio-political alliance of six political parties comprising JUI-F and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). Addressing a public gathering at Bazaida Khel and Mera Khel in District Bannu, the Chief Minister said that the religio-political alliance has also ruled the province, but did nothing for Islamization and Islamic values in their five-year rule and now they are once again trying to use the name of Islam for their political gains.

One of the big components of the religio-political alliance, JI is a coalition partner in the PTI-led provincial government and its parliamentary leader, Inayatullah Khan is a senior minister in the cabinet. The central Ameer, JI Siraj-ul-Haq, who was earlier finance minister in Khattak-headed cabinet was also the finance minister during the tenure government in the province with Akram Khan Durrani as the chief minister. The chief minister said that the provincial government had decided to give stipend to the Pesh Imam of Mosques throughout the province and condemned a particular religio-political party making allegations to doubt the government sincerity for the welfare of Pesh Imam and terming it an agenda of NGO.

It is unfortunate that the same religo-political force is looking everything from its own lenses and trying to find out an NGO's connection to all welfare steps of his government.

Pervez Khattak said that the JUI-F was afraid of his government's reforms and service to Islam and therefore they are casting allegations and aspersions against PTI in their desire to stop their political downward graph. They should read the writing on the wall. They will be defeated again and PTI would stage a comeback on the basis of its performance, reforms and efficient delivery, he added. The chief minister also inaugurated newly approved Tehsil Kuki and 3 roads projects costing Rs 400 million.

He also performed the inauguration of Bannu Ring Road, regularization of special force Bannu, Solarization in Al-Markaz Islami, construction of hostel, two halls and up-gradation of two schools under the Al-Markaz Islami.
