Business community has expressed grave concern over the delay in payment of rebate to owners of flour mills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and described it discrimination on part of Punjab government as the rebate money had already returned to Sindh province.

Speaking at a joint meeting of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Pakistan Flourmills Association at the chamber on Sunday the SCCI Vice President Muhammad Naeem Butt urged Punjab government to expedite the rebate payment process to save the KP flourmills from bankruptcy. He said that Punjab government had already paid millions of rupees in the rebate head of wheat business but the payment was yet to be made to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa flourmills owners for unknown reasons.

The chamber leader said that Punjab government had also failed to comply with the order of Lahore High Court in this regard and thus suggested that the concerned officials should face contempt of court case in this regard.
