The Lahore High Court adjourned to January 25 the hearing in a petition challenging proposed privatization of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and the asked petitioner-lawyer to apprise it about the process for privatization of a government institution. The petitioner Nabeel Javed Kahloon Advocate alleged that the government had decided to privatize the national carrier and was going to sell it to a company of its own choice. He further alleged that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who also owned a private airline in the country, had vested interests in the privatization of PIA.
