Regional Tax Officer (RTO) and Director Excise & Taxation will be invited to visit Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) to discuss and resolve the problems of their concerned departments with business community, said Farooq Yusuf Senior Vice President FCCI. He was addressing the FCCI Standing Committee on Excise and Taxation here today. He said that the Business Community particularly members of FCCI are paying their due tax liabilities but instead of broadening the tax base they are being over burdened with additional taxes. He particularly mention the clause of 38 A and 40 B which is main cause of concern for the businessman and said that efforts are already been made to convince government to withdraw or rescind this law.

Earlier Chaudhry Talat Mehmood Chairmen Committee on Excise & Taxation said that FBR has been mandated to decide cases within 15 days of filing appeals but they are laying pending for 3 to 4 months. He demanded that the entire taxation system should be revisited to facilitate the tax payers. "It should also be linked with business growth instead of making it a source of revenue generation for the government. He said that business community has been sandwiched between FBR and PRA as both government institutions are tightening noose around their necks which also falls within the purview of double taxation. Rana Sikandar Azam Former Senior Vice President FCCI told that housing societies are registered with PRA but tax is collected against their input which should be made adjustable. He told that during the tenure of Former DCO Naseem Sadiq the registrations of Motorcycles were issued within 15 days but now it takes 3 to 4 months and during this long period the buyers of new motorcycle have to bear the additional burden of repeated Challan by the traffic police. He further told that Habibur Rehman Gill should be made member of this Standing Committee and for this purpose positive nod of house is required which was accorded immediately. The house also prayed rest for the renowned religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Amin.

The meeting was also attended by Muhammad Sameer, Azhar Waqar, Mirza Muhammad Mughal, Chaudhry Abdul Haq Tayyab Hussain, Muhammad Tayyab, Mirza Tauseef, Sheikh Abdul Qayum and Naseem Bharara.
