Former Punjab governor and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Thursday issued a white paper on 'increasing child molestation, sexual violence and deteriorating law and order situation and role of flop government'.

According to the paper, during one year, 1725 cases of rape and 195 cases of gang rape were reported with a daily average of five. Moreover, 6000 people were killed in violent incidents, of which 100 children and women were killed after sexual assaults. As many as 41000 incidents of theft and dacoity were registered while 150,000 were reported.

It also highlighted that 76,000 absconders, including 500 with head money and 109 terrorists are committing crimes on daily basis. Some 70 percent of the cases were reported in rural areas while the remaining in urban areas. The ratio of apprehending criminals is less than 20 percent.

Commenting on the white paper, Sarwar urged the Punjab government to hold trials of culprits accused of sexual violence and child molestation in military courts. He also demanded a quick trial and public hanging of Zainab's killers. He lamented the Punjab government for failing to stop child molestation in the province as everyday four to five children are victims of it. "Districts Kasur and Faisalabad are on the top in this list," he added.
