Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MPA Faiza Malik has tabled a call attention notice in the Punjab assembly over the gruesome murder of Zainab in Kasur. The notice pointed out that the eight-year-old Zainab was murdered after rape and the concerned police station failed to take action despite a timely intimation by the family of victim.

The notice further criticized police for its inaction, saying that a timely action could have avoided the tragic incident. It further inquired whether or not the government would take the DPO and other responsible officers to task.
