An activist Amna Malik has approached the Lahore High Court on Thursday against Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in a contempt petition for allegedly making anti-judiciary speeches. The petition through Azhar Siddique submitted that the PM was duty bound to respect judiciary and other state institutions and to observe the respect, dignity and independence of the judiciary. But he was criticizing the judgments of the apex court, she alleged.

She said that the statements of the PM were tantamount to contempt of court and violation of his oath. The petitioner asked the court to direct PEMRA to ban/prohibit the hate speeches of PM Abbasi.
