US wheat futures fell on Friday on a round of profit-taking and a bearish export report from the US Agriculture Department, traders said. The benchmark Chicago Board of Trade March soft red winter wheat contract also faced technical pressure after failing to hold support above its 50-day moving average.

USDA said weekly export sales of wheat were 131,000 tonnes. Analysts forecasts had ranged from 225,000 to 500,000 tonnes. CBOT soft red winter wheat rose 0.9 percent this week, its third straight week of gains. MGEX spring wheat was up 1.9 percent this week and K.C. hard red winter wheat was up 2.2 percent.
