International golfer Taimur Naseer of Pakistan Air Force with his gross six under par 66 over 18 holes clinched the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 0.1 million of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa DG Sports Golf Championship played here at PAF Golf Course on Monday. Director General Sports KP Junaid Khan was the chief guest on this occasion. International golfer and member executive committee of Pakistan Golf Federation Arshad Mehmood, Secretary KP Golf Association Colonel. Hassan Kazmi, Station Commander Brigadier Ghulam Hassan Juya, officials and more than 120 golfers from all across KP were also present during the daylong event and presentation ceremony.

Taimur played a three under 33 at front nine and 33, three under at back nine with six birdies. "The fairways and greens were in excellent condition and that is why all the greens gave a good response to the golfers while going for putting," he added. Taimur Naseer, who also represented Pakistan recently in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, Thailand, termed the event a new edition in the golfing calendar of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also lauded DG Sports Junaid Khan who generously supported the golfing event besides announcing that every year the event would be sponsored by Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Taimur Naseer, a winner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Open, and holding of the President of Pakistan Golfing title, also appreciated Pakistan Golf Federation for providing international exposures. Another senior golfer Abdul Qayyum Bukhari carded five over par 77 over 18 holders took second position while Ch. Nazeer with his gross score par 78 took third position. In the Net category HCP 18 and below Safi Ullah Tareen got first position with 68 Net, followed by Major Muhammad Zia Uddin (68) and Major Waheed (68) remained at third.

Waqas Ullah Shinwari hit the longest drive, while Muhammad Shafiq got nearest to pin trophy when his ball landed at a distance of 5.5 feet over hole no. 17 and Ahmad Jan got max golfing trophy. At the end, the chief guest DG Sports KP Junaid Khan gave away trophies and cash prizes. Taimur Naseer was awarded Rs 0.1 million and trophy.
