Foreign investors' interest in Pakistan's capital market seems to be reviving as the offshore participants remained net buyers of equities during the first week of new calendar year. According to current data of National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL), foreign investors remained net buyers of shares worth $22.957 million during this week.

"It is a good sign that foreign investors are coming back in the Pakistan's capital market," a local investor said. Foreign buying was witnessed in select stocks. Hopefully, the quantum of foreign investors' portfolio investment will increase in days to come, he added.

Foreign investors remained net sellers withdrawing $487.114 million from the capital market during 2017 as compared to $361.101 million withdrawn in 2016.
