The Karachi Port handled 98,976 tonnes of cargo comprising 56,072 tonnes of import cargo and 42,904 tonnes of export cargo including 8,060 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 56,072 tonnes comprised of 2,788 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,340 tonnes of coal and 39,944 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 42,904 tonnes comprised of 42,904 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 8,060 containers comprising of 4,343 containers import and 3,717 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,469 of 20's and 1,282 of 40's loaded while 04 of 20's and 153 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,200 of 20's and 384 of 40's loaded containers while 453 of 20's and 648 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were nine ships namely Hyundai Courage, MSC Maria Laura, Kota Kamil, Polo, Maribor, Bum Shin, MT Lahore, King Douglas and SL Teal carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were four vessels viz. Maliakos, Phoenix, Tiger Beijing and Glovis Safety carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and vehicle respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely Sima Genesis, Common Spirit and Glovis Safety carrying containers, steel and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while three ships namely Maliakos, MOL Eminence and YM Orchid carrying containers respectively are expected to sail on Friday.

There were five vessels viz. Hansa Offenburg, MOL Eminence, GSL Tianjin, MT Quetta and Ellie Lady carrying containers, oil tanker and mogas respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while seven vessels viz. Zante, Ete-N, Al-Safa, MT Al-Soor-II, Al Mahboobah, Alam Sayang and Friendly Island carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, coal and talcum powder respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 212,458 tonnes comprising 139,910 tonnes of import cargo and 72,548 tonnes of export cargo including 6,875 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 139,910 tonnes includes 28,923 tonnes of furnace oil, 9,413 tonnes of palm oil; 25,640 tonnes of coal; 1,425 tonnes of bitumen; 12,681 tonnes of canola seeds; 553 tonnes of LPG and 61,275 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 72,548 tonnes includes; 3,198 tonnes of rice and 69,350 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 6,875 containers comprising of 3,225 containers import and 3,650 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

There were three ships namely CV Alexandia, CV MSC Busan and MT Glorious carrying containers and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Alexandia, CV MSC Busan, MV Era-S, MV Reem-3, MV Fareast Honesty, MV Kirri Billi, MT White Purl, MT Glorious and MT Horizon were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, bitumen, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as ten ships namely CV Maipo, CV North Star Incictus, MV Alios Nicolas, MV Pan Oceanic, MV Kong Qeu Song, MT Al Jassasiya, MT Gas Amazon, MT Maria-III, MT Brizo and MT Al-Soor-II carrying containers, soyabean, rice, project cargo, LPG, LNG, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were three vessels viz. CV Maipo, MT Al Jassasiya and MT Al-Soor-II carrying containers, LNG and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.

There were four ships namely MV Kong Que Song, MV Great-61, MT Ondo and MT Bahra carrying project cargo, steel, LNG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Thursday. There are four ships namely CV Uni Florida, CV CMA CGM Amazon, CV Prosper and MV Industrial Century carrying containers and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday.
