Nazli Abidi - a candidate for senior vice president slot of Women Chambers of Commerce and industry (WCCI) district south opened new 'Pandora's Box' over FPCCI elections 2017, alleging ruling body to get a disqualified candidate - Saeeda Bano elected for the same position through rigging.

Addressing a press conference here at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Thursday she said the ruling group at FPCCI was involved behind the rigging. Elaborating, she said that DGTO had already issued two orders on November 23, and December 13, 2017, declaring Saeeda Bano as 'ineligible' to contest the elections.

However, in sheer violations of these orders, the FPCCI let Bano to contest the polls and later got her elected through manipulations in vote count.

"As per the initial results, the both candidates Nazli Abid and Saeeda Bano obtained 10 votes each, but later the results were manipulated by recovering a mysterious woman vote in favor of Saeeda Bano from a male ballot box of KPK, hence she was declared winner. This act was itself illegal and would not have been considered by the concerned election officials, she said.

Elected president of KWCCI district East Mehreen Ilahi, unopposed vice president district east Shabana Asif, and an executive body member Khalida Saleem Khan were also present during the presser.

They also alleged that Rizwana Shahid as 'self proclaimed president' on behalf of KWCCI (East) had nominated Saeeda Bano to participate in the elections of FPCCI 2017-18 without any legal authority and following due process as the status of the said chamber is undetermined and still pending in court of law.
