The PPP provincial President Muhammad Humayun Khan Thursday directed the divisional and district level office bearers to arrange public and corner meetings to pay homage to the party's founding chairman.
The participants, he said would hold cake cutting ceremonies to recall sacrifices of the former prime minister he rendered for development of the country and strengthening of democracy. He said Mr Bhutto had raised the slogan of roti, kapra, makan (food, clothing and shelter) and enabled the farmers, labourers, industrial workers to raise voice for their rights and against injustices.
Humayun Khan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto loved the downtrodden, poverty stricken people and that was why the PPP gained nationwide popularity but dictators always created hurdles in his way and hanged him for the only reason that he supported the poor.
Meanwhile, MPA Ziaullah Afridi has criticized federal government for increasing prices of petroleum products and demanded withdrawal of the recent hike to avoid price hike in the open market.
The PPP activist said that rates of petroleum products had been increased frequently during the current government which increased public miseries. He said that price hike had already hit hard the poor people that the recent increase in fuel prices had added to their miseries. He urged federal government to withdraw its decision and avoid public wrath, saying that PPP would not remain silent over the hike in fuel rates and if the demand was not met.
