On 2nd January 2018, the Special Secretary Foreign Affairs Aitzaz Ahmed was chief guest at the certificate awarding ceremony of the Afghan Health Professionals (AHP), who underwent a twelve month training and capacity building program at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad. The ceremony was attended by the Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Sayed Abdul Nassir Yusufi.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor of PIMS Islamabad, briefed the guests on various aspects of Pakistan funded 'Afghan Health Professionals Training Project' and expressed willingness for continuing the program in future as well. The Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan appreciated Pakistan's assistance for development and reconstruction of Afghanistan and hoped that cooperation between the two countries would continue not only in Health sector but also other fields of mutual interest, said a press release.-PR
