President Donald Trump has indicated that he would cut off foreign aid to Pakistan, accusing Islamabad of harbouring violent extremists and lying about it. In his first tweet of 2018, the US President has said "the United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools... . They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!"

It is about time Pakistan sift facts from fiction. One of the highly unpopular US President seems to have lost his marbles. That is why he has been consistently describing the word 'imbursement' as 'aid'. US must be taken to task for ignoring the thousands who have been killed on its soil and the billions spent fighting militants.
