According to a top English-language Indian TV channel, Republic, Pakistan's defence minister has "acknowledged" Hafiz Saeed's link to terrorism. Speaking on the recent crackdown on the Saeed's Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir has linked Hafiz Saeed and the JuD to the depraved terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar in 2014 in which over 130 schoolchildren were killed, the TV channel alleged.

Over the last few days, Pakistan has conducted a crackdown on Hafiz Saeed's charities. However, Dastagir has denied that the crackdown has anything to do with Donald Trump's actions.
