Prosecutor NAB Imran Shafiq submitted a copy of IHC stay orders before the court and Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir adjourned the hearing of the case. An IHC division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan granted the stay on Dar's petition, challenging issuance of his arrest warrants and declaration as proclaimed offender by the Accountability Court on December 20 last year.
During the previous hearing, the NAB prosecutor informed the court that the IHC on December 20 restrained the anti-graft court from proceedings against Dar. The IHC's stay orders will remain in force till January 17 when it would take up the matter again, he added. During the hearing on December 18, 2017, four witnesses had recorded their statements before the Accountability Court including an officer of a private bank Faisal Shahzad, Director National Assembly Sher Dil Khan, Director Ministry of Commerce Qamar Zaman and Deputy Secretary Cabinet Division Wasif Hussain.
