The UkrAgroConsult agriculture consultancy has revised its forecast for Ukraine's 2017/18 maize exports to 19.3 to 19.5 tonnes, down from a previous forecast of 19.5 million tonnes. The ministry of agriculture has said Ukraine harvested 25.2 million tonnes of maize this year compared with 28 million tonnes in 2016.

Ukraine exported a record 21.2 million tonnes of maize in the 2016/17 season. According to the ministry's data, maize exports so far this season amount to 4.7 million tonnes, as of December 21, down from 6 million tonnes by the same date in 2016.
