The provincial chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that the party will organise a Fata merger grand jirga on Jan 03 in Peshawar, in which he said representatives of various political parties would be participated. He was addressing at a joining ceremony in Piran Kalay in Batkhela. A dozens of local workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People's Party under leadership of Haji Hazrat Saeed, Israr Ahmad, Qasim Ahmad, Adnan, Tahseen, Mohabbat Shah, and Mian Zakir Shah announced joining Jamaat-e-Islami by quitting their parties.

He said the jirga is aimed to take all political leaders about the party planned 'sit-in' in Islamabad against delaying in implementation of Fata reforms. He said all pro-Fata-KP merger forces will be gathered under one roof. He said Fata issue is entered in a crucial phase, due to which, the situation was created that it will resolve now or never.

Mushtaq Ahmad said that different committees under supervision of the party provincial general secretary Abdul Wasey, deputy chief Haroonul Rashid, and Fata chief Sardar Khan have been constituted for the preparations of the grand merger jirga, which will be held at the Peshawar Press Club on Dec 03.

He viewed that majority of tribal people in great favour of Fata merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the federal government should announce immediate merger of Fata with KP in spirit of democracy. Similarly, he said the parliament upper and lower houses, as well as four legislative Assemblies of the country are fully supporting the merger of Fata-KP integration. Besides, he said the entire nation and people from different walks of life have shown unanimity about the Fata issue.

Mushtaq Ahmad said that the Muttihad Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) had restored. He claimed that the MMA, an alliance of religious parties, will get incredible victory in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the general elections 2018. He demanded of the federal government to not using delaying tactics, should merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the general election is draw near, and should give representation to tribal region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

He also said the corruption is biggest issue of the country, saying that his party had launched an organised anti-corruption campaign across the country, which will continue till the elimination of the corruption. Earlier, JI district chief, Maulana Jamaluddin, former MNA Bakhtiyar Maahfi, nominated candidate for National Assembly, Shahab Hussain, and nominated candidate PK-99 Amjad Ali spoke on the occasion.
