The Ministry of Interior in coordination with the Excise & Taxation Departments and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will obtain record of registration of vehicles used by Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) to know about the ownership of these vehicles and immediate takeover of charitable operations of JuD/FIF.

Sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that Finance Division has written letters to relevant government agencies on the issue of checklist of actions to be taken by the federal/provincial government agencies regarding Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

According to the Finance Division, it is with reference to the last meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) at the Prime Minister's Office, Islamabad, which was presided over by the Prime Minister and attended by the relevant stakeholders to deliberate upon important issues including requirements of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to be fulfilled by Pakistan.

Based on the discussion/decisions taken on Financial Action Task Force issues, Finance Division has prepared a checklist of actions to be taken by the relevant stakeholders within the stipulated time. The checklist contains issues and identification of agencies responsible for taking action within prescribed timeline, the Finance Division said.

The concerned authorities should take necessary action within the timelines indicated in the checklist. The progress on the issues may please be intimated to the Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), Karachi, as the Finance Division intends to hold a special meeting of the concerned stakeholders to review the progress.

The Financial Action Task Force issues/checklist of actions to be taken by the various federal/provincial agencies included takeover of charitable operations of JuD/FIF (ie ambulance services and other charitable centers) by some social organizations. The action has to be taken by the Ministry of Interior, Intelligence Bureau, Federal Board of Revenue and federal and provincial governments.

In this regard, the Ministry of Interior would develop an action plan for takeover of charitable operations of FIF including ambulance service and other charitable centers. The Ministry of Interior in coordination with Excise & Taxation Departments/FBR and IB, obtain the record of registration of vehicles under use of JuD, FIF to know about the ownership of these vehicles and to take further action of takeover.

The name of Markaz-e-Taiba (Markaz in Muridkay) should be changed to make it known that the government of Punjab solely manages and operates the Markaz, checklist of actions to be taken by the various federal/provincial agencies added.
