The Punjab government has transferred Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (Headquarters) Punjab Mian Salik Jalal to Punjab Prisons Staff Training College at Sahiwal as commandant. Well-informed sources confirmed to Business Recorder on Thursday that the provincial government has also appointed Qazi Aslam as DIG Prisons (Headquarters) Punjab.

They added that Salik was a grade-20 officer and he is now serving in grade-21 on own pay scale (OPS). When contacted, DIG Salik in November confirmed to Business Recorder that he had written a letter to the Punjab Home Department, demanding to post somewhere else because the IG Prisons was junior to him.
