Slight appreciation was seen on the money market on Wednesday as the rupee inched up in terms of the dollar in process of trading, dealers said. The rupee was up by two paisas in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 110.47 at Rs 110.50, they said.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the third Asian trade, the dollar eased against a basket of currencies on Wednesday, while commodity-linked currencies such as the Canadian dollar were underpinned by this week's rally in oil prices.

The Australian dollar, however, rose 0.2 percent to $0.7746, reaching its highest level in two months. The US dollar eased 0.1 percent against a basket of six major currencies to 93.188. The dollar held steady against the yen at 113.19 yen.

The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 64.13, the greenback was at 4.080 against the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was available at 6.556 in relation to the Chinese yuan.

OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee managed to gain 10 paisas against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 110.60 and Rs 110.90, they said.

The rupee, however, shed 45 paisas against the euro for buying and selling at Rs 130.25 and Rs 132.25, they added.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pakistani rupee remained unchanged on buying side while it appreciated on selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Wednesday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback resumed trading on its overnight closing of Rs 110.30 and Rs 111.20 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. At close of trading, no change in its value took place for buying at Rs 110.30. However, it recovered by 20 paisas for selling at Rs 111.00, they added.

The national currency, however, registered reduction in terms of the pound sterling.

The pound's buying and selling rates rose from Tuesday's closing of Rs 145.30 and Rs 146.70 to Rs 146.40 and Rs 147.20 respectively, they said.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The value of rupee against the dollar remained unchanged at the open currency marketsof Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened at Rs 110.30 (buying) and Rs 110.50 (selling) against same last rate. It closed at Rs 110.30 (buying) and Rs 110.50 (selling).
