The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed Director General, Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit, Islamabad, to report directly to the Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division instead of FBR Member Customs. According to a notification issued by the FBR here on Friday, Samaira Nazir Siddiqui, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Customs Service, currently posted as Director General, Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit, Islamabad, shall report directly to the Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division in all official matters with immediate effect and until further orders.

Under Customs General Order No. 3 of 2009, a Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit was established, headed by a director general and assisted by three directors, ie, Director Post Clearance Audit (North), Lahore, Director Post Clearance Audit (South), Karachi, and Director Post Clearance Audit (Headquarter), Islamabad. The Director General, Post Clearance Audit, shall report to the Member (Customs), FBR.

Zahid Khokhar, Member Customs, holds position in Grade-21 and Samaira Nazir Siddiqui is a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Customs Service. Thus, a senior official cannot report to a junior official. Therefore, the FBR has issued a new office order that Samaira Nazir Siddiqui, Director General, Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit, Islamabad, shall report directly to the Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division, sources said.

At the same time, a BS-22 post of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) in the Federal Board of Revenue, Islamabad is re-designated as Member (Legal & Accounting-Customs), FBR, Islamabad, with immediate effect and until further orders, says a FBR notification issued on Friday.

In pursuance of Law and Justice Division's notification, four officers of Inland Revenue Service are relieved from their duties with immediate effect to join their new place of postings. The officials are Syed Ayaz Mahmood (IRS/BS-21), Dr Muhammad Akram Khan (IRS/BS-21), Nadir Mumtaz Warraich (IRS/BS-21) and Syed Tahir Raza Zaidi (IRS/BS-20).

Meanwhile, according to a notification, Sarwat Tahira Habib (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-22) has been transferred from Chief Collector, Chief Collector of Customs (North), Islamabad, to Member (Legal & Accounting-Customs), FBR, Islamabad; Muhammad Javed Ghani (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) from Director General, Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi to look-after charge of Director General, Directorate General of Input Output Co-efficient Organization, Karachi, in addition to his own duties till posting of a regular incumbent on the post; Dr Jawwad Owais Agha (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) from Director General, Directorate General of Input Output Coefficient Organization, Karachi, to Chief Collector of Customs (North), Islamabad; Muhammad Asif Marghoob Siddiqui (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20) from Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication-I), Karachi, to Directorate General of Input Output Co-efficient Organization, Karachi; Dr Tahir Qureshi (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-20 from Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication-II), Karachi, is assigned the look-after charge of Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication-I), Karachi, in addition to his own duties till posting of a regular incumbent on the post; Mehreen Naseem (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-19) from Additional Collector, Office of the Chief Collector of Customs (Central), Lahore, to Additional Director, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation-FBR, Lahore; Farah Farooq (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-19) from Additional Director, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation, FBR, Lahore, to Additional Collector, Model Customs Collectorate, Sialkot, and Baasit Hussain (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-18) has been transferred form Deputy Collector, Model Customs Collectorate, Hyderabad, and posted as Deputy Collector, Model Customs Collectorate of Exports (Port Muhammad Bin Qasim), Karachi.
