Pakistan Tax Advisors Association (PTAA) has requested Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend date filing of Income Tax Returns for companies till November 30, 2017. According to a communication of Javed Iqbal Qazi Chairman PTAA here on Friday, Federal Board of Revenue vide Circular No 09 of 2017 (Income Tax) dated 15.11.2017 has extended the date of Filling of Income Tax Returns/Statements of Final Taxation for Individuals & Association of Persons up to 30.11.2017, but has not extended the date for Limited companies.

Pakistan Tax Advisors Association appreciates the extension granted to the taxpayers. The Returns in respect of Limited Companies was made available on the 'IRIS' on 19th October 2017 as such very little time has been allowed to the Companies for submission of Returns as compared to Individuals/Association of Persons which were loaded on the 'IRIS' on 28th Sep 2017. This is a case of great hardship.

In view of above it is requested that the date of filling of Returns for Companies may also be extended up to 30th November 2017. It is further submitted that 'IRIS' is also not functioning properly and the tax practitioners are facing great difficulty in E-filling of returns. This issue may also be resolved without further loss of time in the best interest of Revenue, Javed Iqbal Qazi added.
