The excise and taxation department has decided to launch mobile vans to facilitate the citizens, said sources. They said a physical interaction of departmental teams with vehicle owners has led to unavoidable situations as a latest scuffle at a picket had resulted into an injury of the staff member. Therefore, the vans are being introduced to receive token fee and number plate charges from citizens on roads and save them from the hassle of visiting office for the same. The department would dedicate four vans for the city of Lahore while one van for other regions. These vans would accompany excise staffers during crackdown drive and receive dues from the defaulters.
