Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Thursday inaugurated a three-day Pakmedica Medical Health Exhibition that is being held in collaboration with the Turkish government and Punjab Health Department. Shahbaz visited various stalls and evinced keen interest in the medical equipment and machinery displayed at the exhibition.

Talking to the media, the Chief Minister said that bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey was being promoted in different sectors. He said that the exhibition would bring Pakistan and Turkey still more closer and the bilateral cooperation for serving the ailing humanity would be further promoted.

He thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, Turkish Health Minister Dr Ahmet Demircan and Turkish companies. He also thanked the member of Turkish Parliament Burhan Kayaturk who has also arrived to attend the exhibition besides the presence of a good number of heads of famous Turkish companies and high officials.

"Punjab government and Turkey have jointly taken different steps to improve the healthcare systems and it will benefit the common man as the latest health facilities will be accessible to the masses," he said, announcing that Punjab government has decided to begin motorbikes ambulance service in the province from the beginning of October. He said this ambulance service would be started simultaneously from all the nine divisions including Lahore.

Shahbaz said that Turkey had provided worthwhile cooperation for the launch of this programme and it would be very useful for dealing with any emergent situation in the alleyways. He expressed hope that this exhibition would help promote Pakistan-Turkey relations and joint steps would be taken in healthcare sector to benefit the ailing humanity.

Apart from Burhan Kayaturk, Consul General of Turkey Serdar Deniz, high officials of the Turkish Health Ministry, representatives of Turkish companies, Punjab Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Sheikh Allauddin, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Secretary Health and other high officials were also present on the occasion.
