The Karachi Port handled 273,035 tonnes of cargo comprising 258,253 tonnes of import cargo and 14,782 tonnes of export cargo including 3,023 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 258,253 tonnes comprised of 90,916 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,997 tonnes of general cargo; 50,643 tonnes of bulk cargo: 38,236 tonnes of coal; 000 tonnes of seeds; 12,407 tonnes of fertilizer and 104,697 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 14,782 tonnes comprised of 14,782 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,023 containers comprising of 2,294 containers import and 729 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The breakup of imported containers shows 792 of 20's and 727 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 24 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 93 of 20's and 75 of 40's loaded containers while 70 of 20's and 208 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were eleven ships namely SM Mumbai, Clemens Schulte, Najran, Levante, CMA CGM Verginia, MSC Capri, Puze, Octaden, Asphalt Princess, ISE and Fortune Express carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were eleven vessels viz. Seapan Grouse, MSC Capri, Prosper, Hyundai General, Richmond, MT Lahore, Bright World, Lark, Nordic Tianjin, Fortune Express and Ping AN Song carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, chemical and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

There were four ships namely Seapan Grouse, Xpress Black Sea, MT Lahore and Bright World carrying containers, oil tanker and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday.

There were five vessels Fortune, KMTC Mumbai, STI Memphis, Bao Resource and Rowan-3 carrying containers, gas, DAP and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday while three vessels viz. Mangoes Hunter, Dream Jasmine and Roelof carrying containers, vehicle and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 102,880 tonnes comprising 74,095 tonnes of import cargo and 28,785 tonnes of export cargo including 2,422 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 74,095 tonnes includes 26,027 tonnes of diesel oil; 12,428 tonnes of palm oil; 2,851 tonnes of chemical; 10,356 tonnes of soyabean; 5,200 tonnes of coal and 17,233 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 28,785 tonnes includes 28,785 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 2,422 containers comprising of 907 containers import and 1,515 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were five ships namely CV Hermes, CV Fortune, MV Ali Kip, MV Ginga Saker and MT Zem Gale carrying containers, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Ginga Lion carrying palm oil is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Hermes, CV Fortune, MV Ali Kip, MV RB Eden, MV Ginga Saker, MT Zem Gale and MT Ginga Lion currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as nineteen ships namely CV MSC Joanna, MV Good Hope Max, MV MR Arcturus, MV Rui Ning-2, MV Frauke, MV Argent Freesia, MT North Gas, MT Kahyas, MT Globe Tanya, MT Bneinder, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Spruce-2, MT Genie, MT Brizo, MT Harminy-1, MT Bunga Allium, MT CTG Argon, Ginga Lion and MT Maritime Yuan carrying containers, soyabean, condensate oil, coal, project cargo, chemical, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were seven vessels viz. CV MSC Joanna, CV Al Rawdah, MV Rui Ning-2, MV Frauke, MV Argent Freesia, MT Genie and MT Bunga Allium carrying containers, project cargo, coal, chemical, furnace oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There were three ships namely CV Al Rawdah, MV Industrial Swift and MV Gas Chem Antartic carrying containers, project cargo and chemical respectively due to arrive on Monday.
