Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that vast prospects exist for investment in different sectors in Punjab and best collaboration was established between Punjab government and Chinese companies. "A new history of eternal Pak-China friendship has been written. The investment projects worth billions of dollars are being completed speedily in a transparent manner," he said talking to the heads of Chinese investment companies in Beijing. He said that a new chapter of development and prosperity has been written after the tour of Chinese President to Pakistan.

Shahbaz said that the CPEC gave new dimension to unique relations of Pakistan and China. The economic package of China has helped begin a new era of development in Pakistan. He said China proved its friendship with Pakistan when we were facing terrorism and energy crisis.

"Every type of facilities will be provided to the Chinese investors for setting up factories in Punjab," he assured, saying he has been personally supervising the projects launched in collaboration with China. He said that best facilities have been provided for investment in the Punjab where a number of Chinese companies were investing. "Let's invest in Punjab wholeheartedly, and you will be fully facilitated. We welcome your cooperation in development and prosperity of Punjab," he said.

Moreover, in an interview to the Chinese news agency Xinhua in Beijing, Shahbaz said that the PML-N government in Pakistan gave solid economic shape to Pak-China friendship.

"We shall also leave a legacy of a better future to our future generations in the form of CPEC. The officials of China and Pakistan are working as a team to move towards the CPEC project," he said.

Punjab chief minister said that important targets had been achieved within a short span of time under the CPEC and completion of projects with such a speed was unimaginable during the last 70 years. He said the enemy was plotting against the CPEC and that would never be allowed to succeed. He said the visionary leaderships of Pakistan and China were fully committed to deal with challenges.

He said One Belt One Road is a historic project of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This project is a hope of peace, prosperity and development and we fully support this wonderful vision. According to him, the process of completion of energy projects has begun which would help end the energy crisis. The 1320-megawatt Sahiwal Coal Power Project has started producing electricity and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would inaugurate this project this month. The Bhikki Gas Power Project is also generating 717 megawatt electricity, and this project is providing electricity in a record span of time. The standard of transparency introduced by the PML-N government in the projects is also unique, he said.
