In spite of hundreds of pickets set up by capital police, robbers and burglars struck at 14 different places in the city and made off with cash and other valuables worth millions of rupees during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, various police stations of the city registered 14 cases of theft including robbery and snatching, 10 cases of vehicle lifting and four cases of kidnapping during the last week.

During the period under review, the most favourite areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Sabzi Mandi, Aabpara, Lohi Bher and Golra police stations. Sabzi Mandi police station registered one case each of robbery and snatching as well as two cases of motor vehicle theft during the last week. Saima Qadir informed Sabzi Mandi police station that she was on her way in her car when two armed persons riding a bike intercepted her and picked her bag lying on his front seat containing cash, jewellery and mobile phone.

Another Kashif Humyaun registered a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that two armed persons snatched his mobile phone at gunpoint at IJP Road. The thieves also stole a bike (RIN-8857) of Waqas Ahmad at Sector I-10/1 and lifted another bike (RVN-4994) of Muhammad Usman from the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi police station.

Aabpara police registered two cases of car lifting and one case each of robbery and kidnapping during the period under review. Carjackers stole a car (SGT-4833) of Saeed from Sector G-6/4 and lifted a bike (S-6847) of Muhammad Umer from Sunday Bazaar car parking. Muhammad Aslam of Sector G-7/3-4 lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and mobile phone from his house. One Umer Farooq of G-6/1-2 registered a complaint with Aabpara police station that unknown kidnappers abducted his brother Muhammad Umer.

Lohi Bher police station registered three cases of robbery and one case of auto theft. Hafiz Sher Rehman filed a complaint with Lohi Beer police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash, 12-bore gun and other valuables from his house. One Liaquat Ali informed Lohi Ber police station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from his house. Shakeel Ahmad got a complaint registered with Lohi Bher police station that robbers stole a bike (RIL-2908) and laptop from his house.

During the last week, Golra police station registered two cases of carjacking and one case of robbery. Car lifters stole Suzuki pickup (LHO-826) of Tanveer parked in front of his house and lifted a bike (QP-312) of Asim Javed of Sector D-12 in the limits of the same police station.

One Muhammad Aslam of Gori Rajgan got a complaint registered with Golra police station that four armed robbers stormed into his house, held the whole family at gunpoint and snatched gold ornaments, cash and a mobile phone. In the period under review, Bhara Kahu police station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping while Koral police station registered one case each of murder and auto theft. During the last week, Sihala, Kohsar, Noon and Margalla police stations registered one case each of robbery while Shehzad Town police station registered one case of kidnapping.
