The freight train was to change its tack near Bhulari; however, it ran into another goods train standing there, causing 150 tonnes of oil to be wasted as 23 bogies derailed. Movement of the trains was suspended owing to ongoing repair work on the track. DS Karachi Nisar Ahmed Memon also visited the site and termed driver of oil-carrying-train responsible for the hapless incident. Railway officials said the relief and restoration work has been started. Meanwhile, the train service stands suspended at Karachi-Hyderabad track on the heels of the accident. Train accidents are common in Pakistan, which inherited thousands of miles of track and trains from former colonial power, Britain. The railways have seen decades of decline due to corruption, mismanagement and lack of investment.
