Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Punjab Khawaja Imran Nazir presided over a meeting to review the situation of chickenpox and treatment facilities being provided to the patients at Allied Hospital Faisalabad. Special Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Dr Faisal Zahoor, Director EPI Dr Muhammad Munir, Additional Secretary Technical Dr Asim Altaf, Director CDC Dr Bashir Ahmed and other officers attended the meeting while officers of other districts and Principal Allied Hospital Faisalabad participated in the meeting through video link.

The meeting was told that the intensity of the disease has reduced and at present, there are only three patients under treatment at Allied Hospital Faisalabad. The meeting was further informed that steps regarding case reporting for checking the disease and its treatment in affected districts are continuing as per protocol. The meeting was further informed that three patients are under treatment at Allied Hospital Faisalabad, out of which, one is at ventilator and senior doctors of the hospital are treating the patients. Imran Nazir directed that no negligence should be shown in controlling the disease and treatment of patients. He also directed to keep a vigilant eye on the situation and continue awareness campaign for creating public awareness to control the disease.
