The federal capital witnessed a rise in various kinds of crimes as 10 cases of theft, including robberies and snatching, were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, various police stations of the city registered 10 cases of different kinds of theft, four cases of car lifting and one case each of murder and kidnapping during the last week.

The criminal gangs had a field day within the limits of Industrial Area, Golra, Tarnol, Sabzi Mandi and Karachi Company police stations. Industrial Area police station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping during the period. One Dr Ijaz of sector I-8/3 lodged a complaint with Industrial Area police station that two armed persons stormed into his house and looted Saudi riyals, two mobile phones, laptop, cash and jewellery at gunpoint.

In another incident, Syed Mumtaz Hussain belonging to sector H-9/4 registered a complaint with Industrial Area police station that accused Mubasher has kidnapped his daughter. During the period under review, Karachi Company police station registered one case each of robbery and snatching. One Ashfaq Ahmad lodged a complaint with Karachi Company police station that cash has been stolen from his shop located in sector G-9/4 and he suspected that his servants Bilal, Naeem, Shabir and Javed might have stolen the cash.

One Nilofer Hussain registered a complaint with Karachi Company police station that an armed person riding a bike snatched mobile phone, cash and house keys from her at gunpoint in front of her house located in sector G-9/2.

During the period under review, Golra police station registered two cases of robbery. One Qazi Nasir Ahmad registered a complaint with Golra police station that four armed persons entered his poultry warehouse and snatched cash and 22 mobile phones from the employees at gunpoint.

In anther incident, Umer Farooq of sector E-11/3 informed Golra police station that a 9mm pistol has been stolen from his house and he suspects his servant Ali Haider might be involved in this robbery. The auto thieves stole two vehicles bearing registration numbers LXJ-2398 and RIW-5973 from the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station. During the last week, Bani Gala police station registered one case of murder, while Aabpara, Lohi Bher, Tarnol and Koral police stations registered one case each of robbery. In the same period, Kohsar and Shams Colony police stations registered one case each of kidnapping and auto theft.
