Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan was making adequate efforts for developing cordial relations with Afghanistan and waiting for positive response in this regard. Talking media on Saturday here, he said mutual co-operation between Pakistan and Afghanistan was direly needed for elimination of terrorism and for developing a permanent peace. "We are monitoring the boarder situation and ready to protect fronts at all cost and flexibility of Pakistan should not be underestimated," he said.

Asif further stated that 6,400MW electricity would be added in national grid by the end of current year, adding there was loadshedding in the country. The Minister stated that uninterrupted electricity was being provided to the industrial sector across the country to keep the production wheel in full motion. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would open new vistas of prosperity, development and regional connectivity, he said. The Minister further added CPEC would not only benefited Pakistan and China but would have positive impact on the region.
