I congratulate the Department of Labour & HR for commemorating such a meaningful day to mark solidarity with the martyrs of Chicago. Indeed this day, world has learnt a lesson that dignity of workers is closely linked with the peace, prosperity and progress of those who toil untiringly and needed to be rewarded equally. Let us on this day resolve to eliminate all forms of exploitation and oppression.

Urging the employers to have an enlightened approach in dealing with labour community. There is an urgent need for aspiration of the employers and the working class to converge in order to increase productivity and promote the well-being of all. Without economic development of the province we cannot realize the objective of a modern, dynamic and moderate Islamic Welfare State.

No worldly covenant upholds the dignity of labours as firmly as Islam does. The best way to ensure the well-being of working class therefore, is to follow Islamic injuctions. I understand that the Government of Sindh in the wake of the 18th Amendment in the Constitution of Pakistan has already done a lot for making working conditions more congenial and safe. New set of provincial labour laws recently enacted shall have unmatched clauses to provide more relief to the workers, employed in different sectors, specially the agriculture and fisheries sectors. I wish the Department of Labour & HR to continue its efforts for the well-being of the working community.
