Rescue workers and local people rushed the scene to control the fire but wheat crop on seven acres of land was burnt to ashes before the fire could be doused. The fire rendered huge financial losses to the growers and they have appealed the provincial government for compensation of their losses as their family were entirely dependent on the agricultural yields.
