Many parts of Karachi plunged into darkness due to power outage that brought routine activities to a standstill on Tuesday night. Aaj News reported that power breakdown was witnessed in Surjani Town, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, KDA Society, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Nazimabad, Incholi, Ayesha Manzil, Federal B Area, Tariq Road, Lines Area, Garden, II Chundrigar Road, DHA, Clifton, and others areas.

The channel quoted sources as saying that that high tension wire of K-Electric tripped that left half of the city in darkness. It said 12 grid stations stopped functioning. However, KE spokesperson said that the power outage was due to temporary tripping in a small area and there was no tripping in one of their units and teams were working to resolve the issue. He said that no high tension line was tripped and power supply to the affected areas would be restored in 30 minutes.
