Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has increased sales tax on motor spirit from 15.5 per cent to 20 percent from May 1, 2017. According to an SRO 292(1)/2017 issued by the FBR, sales tax on kerosene would remain at zero per cent from May 1, 2017. Sales tax on high speed diesel oil has been increased from 29.5 per cent to 33.5 percent, reflecting an increase of 4 per cent.

Sales tax on light diesel oil would remain at zero percent under the notification.
