Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) wants to close down cities in an attempt to pressurise the country's institutions. While talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, Rana said PTI wants to impose their negative politics through the public gathering planned in Islamabad. "These people want to foster their negative politics," he said.

Answering a question about the accusation made by Imran Khan of being offered Rs 10 billion for keeping silent on the Panama Papers case, Rana smilingly said the PTI Chief even cannot be given Rs 10. Replying to a question about Orange Line metro project, Rana Sanaullah said that the public transport system launched by the present government would not only benefit the people of Lahore but thousands of others who will use the service.

He said, "Lahore is an international city [hence] the Metro project is the need of the hour." He maintained, "But some people do not understand this." He added that such people only want to cause hindrances so that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif cannot complete his projects.

When asked about the resignation of federal minister for inter-provincial co-ordination, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Sanaullah said he was not aware of his resignation. He further said that there is no point pertaining to Nawaz Sharif in 13 points in Joint Investigation Committee constituted for Panama issue. He said that out of these 13 points, seven are related to the business started by late Mian Muhammad Sharif; two to the beneficiary owner of offshore company Hussain Nawaz while four questions relate to Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz.

Moreover, Punjab government spokesman Malik Ahmed Khan has warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan of legal action over his allegation of being offered Rs 10 billion to stay silent in the Panama case. Talking to media, Malik Ahmed Khan said Imran Khan should reveal the name of the person who made him this offer. "If he (Imran) does not provide the name in three days, we will file a defamation notice against him and file a claim in the Court of competent jurisdiction," he said.
