On April 24, spokesperson of the PTI Fawad Chaudhry, who is also a Supreme Court lawyer, filed a reference under Article 209 of the Constitution days after the apex court in the Panama Papers case expressed disappointment over the chairman NAB who, according to the judgement, "appeared to be indifferent and even unwilling to perform his part."
Registrar of the Supreme Court, Arbab Muhammad Arif issued the schedule of the meeting being secretary of the SJC on Friday. The meeting of the Council has been convened in response to Fawad Chaudhry's complaint. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, being the Chairman of the Council, will hear the complaint to decide whether or not it is maintainable. Arbab Muhammad Arif has asked the spokesman of the PTI to attend the meeting and assist the Council in the conference room of the Supreme Court on May 16.
