Chief Minister of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday appointed Lieutenant Colonel Sardar Mohammad Ayub Khan Gadhi (Retd) as provincial minister for counter terrorism department. Colonel Ayub Khan Gadhi was elected into Punjab Assembly on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from Toba Tek Singh. According to details, a formal approval letter has been issued in Punjab Cabinet pertaining to give anti-terrorism department to Colonel Ayub Khan.

The total number of ministers in Provincial Cabinet has escalated to 32 after his appointment. Sources said that Gadhi's brother Sardar Masood Gadhi was given the ticket to contest the local bodies election for chairman from Toba Tek Singh after which Chaudhry Asad and Khalid Warraich Group refused to support him. Masood Gadhi was made to resign after protests by several members of the provincial assembly and was assured a provincial ministry.

Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan Gadhi, son of Sardar Muhammad Murad Khan Gadhi, was born on March 14, 1961 at Toba Tek Singh. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army and graduated from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul in 1980. He has also served as a parliamentary secretary for environment.
