The cases of robbery witnessed a slight decline in federal Capital during the last week but cases of abduction registered an upward trend and a human rights activist also went missing, revealed data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday.

According to details, various police stations of the city registered five cases of motor vehicle thefts, three cases of robberies and three cases of kidnappings, besides 13 cases of dishonoured cheques during the week under review. A human rights activist and Fatima Jinnah Women University Professor Salman Haider went missing from Bani Gala.

Lohi Bher police station registered an first information report (FIR) on the complaint of his brother Zeeshan Haider and started investigation in this regard. According to Zeeshan Haider, Salman was at Bani Gala along with his friends on the night of January 06. When his brother did not return home by 10 pm, his wife tried to make a telephonic contact with him but his phone found switched off. He further said Salman's wife later received a text message which revealed that his car was parked at Korang Town, Express Highway.

The police later found the car (AAE-388) from Korang Town, according to police official.

During the last week, a car (IDL-7018) owned by Zafar was stolen by auto thieves from the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station, a car bearing registration number ID-6196 owned by Ferhan-ul-Hassan was lifted from the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town, a car (BC-7483) of Zafar Iqbal was stolen from the limits of Industrial Area, a vehicle of Raza Rehman bearing registration number AAU-818 was lifted from the limits of Sihala police station, and a bike (ZL-863) of Muhammad Javed was stolen from the limits of Aabpara police station.

During the week under review, Shakeel Nisar, a resident of Bani Gala lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that gold ornaments and cash have been stolen from his house by unknown robbers. In another incident, Abdul Aziz of Ghauri Town lodged a complaint with the Koral police station that unknown people have abducted his daughter. During the period, Muhammad Fazal lodged a complaint with the Sabzi Mandi police station that the accused Rizwan has abducted his daughter. Ali Haider lodged a complaint with the Lohi Bher police station that unknown robbers have stolen mobile phone and cash form his shop.
