The Special Assistant to CM for IT Dr Sikandar Shoro, Special Assistant to CM for Inspection, Inquiries and Implementation Team (CMIT) Mr Nadir Ali Khwaja, MPA Fakirdad Khoso, and V C MUET Dr Aslam Uqaili also witnessed the exhibition of final year student's projects.
The Minister for Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah encouraged the students who demonstrated their projects, and briefly presented their projects' practical utilization in today's world. The Minister took keen interest in the projects designed by the students of Communication designing, textile designing and other departments. The Minister for Culture said the CEAD is doing a marvelous job by igniting creativity among its students and it is very impressive. The honorable minister expressed his concern over the work, productivity, and performance of the University of Sindh University. "I personally feel that the basic reason behind this dismal state of affairs of the SU is some internal politics between teachers and administration which is continuously hampering its production of creative minds", he added.
He further said that applications of the designed projects should be properly marketed and in this regard Dr Sikandar Shoro has also witnessed this exhibition, and I hope that he would propose the government to properly utilize this creative talent of students of CEAD.
Addressing the Annual Degree Show ceremony the Minister for Culture said that it is indeed a matter of great pleasure for me to witness such creative work of the students, and I wish that every educational institute of the province should follow suit and establish such centers of creative art and designs, so that our students can express themselves in a better way, and can pave the way for the techno-savvy future coupled with artistic values in our province.
While replying to a question of media, the Minister for Culture Syed Sardar Shah lamented that he was shocked to know that no work ever carried out on Rani Kot or Kotdiji site by his predecessors, which was certainly an inefficiency on the part of the office-bearers, but he unequivocally said that the subject of Architecture has just devolved to the provinces after 18th amendment, and only then we have started materializing the much needed restoration work at these sites. "The restoration work at the site of Umerkot Fort is going on, and hopefully we would continue this restoration phase to other sites", he added.
He further said that no sooner did he take the charge as minister, he personally visited all over the province and personally monitored and observed the ground realities of the sites. He further told that Manchar Festival will be organized by the Culture department in next couple of months, and a rest house will also be established there.
Mehwish bari Khan, Fozia Junejo, Haniya Ali, Ayesha Masood, Isbah Fatima and other participating students exhibited their projects with the titles of Freedom of expression, Cyber crime bill, Thinking Perspectives (FITS) device, Stop killing time, Color blindness, and Power of strength respectively. The Annual Degree Show was attended by a large number of students, art lovers, artists, literary figures, Professors and journalists.
