The total export cargo of 29,960 tonnes comprised of 27,380 tonnes of containerised cargo; 80 tonnes of general cargo and 2,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,897 containers comprising of 2,419 containers import and 3,478 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,297 of 20's and 508 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 53 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 746 of 20's and 332 of 40's loaded containers while 572 of 20's and 748 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely KMTC Mumbai, Glovis Challenge and BBC Vela carrying containers, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Kota Kamil, Najdiah, Glovis Challenge and JI Xiang Song carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were five ships namely Kota Karim, Sima Giselle, MT Shalamar, Jeil Crystal and Fidelity carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely Wan Hai-501 carrying containers is expected to sail on Saturday. There was one vessel viz. Kota Lembah carrying containers due to arrive on Friday while seven vessels viz. MSC Capri, Morning Glory, MT Karachi, Clio, Asavari, Ocean Glory and Glovis Star carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas, chemical, coal and vehicle respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A cargo volume of 143,044 tonnes comprising 99,797 tonnes of import cargo and 43,073 tonnes of export cargo including 4,965 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 99,797 tonnes includes 26,958 tonnes of diesel oil; 2,600 tonnes of palm oil; 13,927 tonnes of canola seeds; 820 tonnes of coal; 4,404 tonnes of chemical and 51,262 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 43,073 tonnes includes 43,073 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,965 containers comprising of 2,698 containers import and 2,267 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were four ships namely CV MSC Asya, MV Amoy Action, MT Elka Delphi and MT Bochem Chennai carrying containers, rice, diesel oil and palm oil respectively expected to sail on Friday morning, while another ship namely MV Happy Penguin carrying chemical is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Comeille, CV MSC Asya, CV Maersk Stepnica, MV Amoy Action, MV Glory Navigator, MV Happy Penguin, MT Bochem Chennai and MT Elka Delphi currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, chemical, canola seeds, LPG, LNG, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV ER Tanping, MV BBC Ohio, MV Kaimon Galaxy, MV Jipre Neptis, MV Igic Anka, MV Saadong Halyao, MV Amoy Action, MT Liberty-N, MT Distya Amely, MT Pacific Energy, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Serenceti, MT Grand Ace-I and MT Bunga Allium carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, soyabean seeds, coal, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday.
There were five vessels viz. CV ER Tanping, MV BBC Ohio, MV Jipre Neptis, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Bunga Allium carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Rita, CV CMA CGM Comeille and CV HS Wanger carrying containers due to arrive on Friday. There were five ships namely CV Maersk Innoshima, CV Nicoline Maersk CV MSC Federica, MV Han Hui and MV Fareast Honesty carrying containers, project cargo and steel coil respectively due to arrive on Saturday while two ships namely CV MSC Asya and CV Libelia carrying containers are due to arrive on Sunday.
